Speaking at a press conference in Oued Tlelat, near the city of Oran, where the future Renault plant is being built, Bernard Sonilhac , CEO of Renault Algérie Production, yesterday confirmed that the plant will start production in November as previously announced.
Construction, which had started in September 2013, is nearly achieved. Assembly machines have been installed and are now ready to start production of the first prototypes cars. About 200 employees have been recruited so far and trained at the training center (CFPA) near Oran.
The plant, with annual capacity of 25,000 vehicles, will produce New Renault Symbol.
